The Importance of The Dance

I am not entirely sure what the truth behind this folk genre's creation was, however we do know what it's origin story represents.

La Danza de los Zancudos represents growing beyond yourself and becoming a better person. In the origin story, Saint Peter told the village to dance on stilts to prove that they could be better than they showed.

Now the dance and culture has taken it a step further, and has become a folk genre that binds the entire village together and reminds them to be kind to one another and give each other gifts.
